Canberra Metro Light Rail Integration Study

Integrating light rail with existing urban fabric

scroll

MRCagney partnered with SMEC to undertake the transport planning assessment to determine the most appropriate locations for stops along the proposed light rail corridor, the facilities that each stop will require, and to develop concept designs for each stop and major interchange station.

The project included a review of the existing bus network and an assessment of requirements for the future expansion and integration of the bus network with the light rail system.

Recommendations also included improving safe and convenient pedestrian access at stations, neighbourhood connections, intersection improvements, and station design. Recommendations about bicycle network integration were provided at the site-level and network scale. Conceptual bus/LRT interchanges were designed for City, Dickson, and Gungahlin Stations.
